Wow, has it ever been a long time.
Japan was incredibly incredible. Clean cities, excellent public transportation, awesome customer service, and just general politeness.
and GREAT shopping.
Saw a lot of sights...Tokyo tower, Zozoji Temple, Meiji shrine, The futuristic city of Odaiba....all amazing. And not to mention Akihabara, the electric town. That was a good 3 days for me. I mean you can find anything there. personal electronics, musical instruments, arcade game boards, any video game you can think of - at cheap prices, too! (well, cheap compared to the rest of japan.)
It was great to be away from the store, to relax and enjoy my life while fufilling a life long dream. The only negatives were the weather (SUPER hot and humid) and feeling like i was always being looked at. As a black guy in Japan, the fact that you are an outsider is painfully obvious. There is literally nowhere to hide. lots of looks - some of curiosity, some of surprise, some of mistrust and/or disdain. Its an eerie feeling when you are in a place where you can't dissappear into the crowd.
i have video and pics of the trip, hit me up personally if you want details!
Meanwhile, there are more pressing matters. i am now in North Carolina, where Pump it Up nationals is going to go down tomorrow. wish me luck.
